Superheroes

This half term our topic is Superheroes.

We will be looking at the 'Supertato' books and making our own 'Supertato’s' in class. We will be looking at super hero powers and how they can be used to help people. The children will be turning themselves into superheroes and thinking what powers they would like to have. The children will be doing some writing about their superhero.

In maths we are looking at measuring using rulers, tape measures, rope and cubes. The children will be looking at objects and ordering them from the longest to the shortest and going on object hunts with their measuring rope. We are also looking at numbers 1 more than and 1 less than with numbers 1-20.

In class we have a Superhero Station as our role play area. We are going to be looking at different materials and if they are waterproof. The children will have the opportunity to design superhero badges, masks and cuffs.

In RE we will be doing the topic ‘gathering’ and the importance of gathering with our Parish family. The later half of the term we will be moving onto ‘growing,’ looking at Lent and then the Easter story.
