Our class email is:

Welcome to Class Six!

We hope you all had the most wonderful festive period and that you are excited for all the activities we will undertake in our spring term. Best wishes to everyone and we hope you all have the best year ahead in 2022.

Our theme for this spring term is:

"Evolution and Inheritance: Have we always looked like this?"

In our English we will be using the text, 'The Selfish Giant' by Oscar Wilde. We are looking forward to being very creative in our writing and allowing our narrative to leap off the page creating a wonderful world full of description. We will be learning about our bodies within science with the focus being on blood and the circulatory system. In history, we will be looking at England and the changes our country has undertaken through time. We will focus on the north of England with a specific emphasis on the city of York.

I am sure we will have an amazing term and always remember, if you have any questions or queries, you can always email the class email address below.

Many thanks for your support. Continue to stay safe and smile!

Our class webpage will be updated throughout the year to inform you of any important information and changes.

P.E. in Class Six will take place on a Tuesday and a Thursday. Please ensure your child comes to school wearing their P.E. kit. Your child can wear their school jumper or cardigan as well as a coat over the top of their P.E. kit. In cold weather please allow your child to wear tracksuit bottoms if needed. If your child suffers from veruccas please ensure they have pumps or it is covered up adequately if the P.E. session is indoors as trainers and socks will be taken off.

Homework in Class Six will take place throughout the week. Children are also expected to read and we suggest at least 10 minutes a day if at all possible.

We highly encourage all children to bring in a water bottle to school every day. St. Jerome's water bottles are available from the school office for £1. Castlerigg cookies are available every Wednesday morning break time for 35 pence. If your child would like to purchase any of these items they should bring in the required money on each day and keep it safely in their tray.

We look forward to an amazing year in Class Six! If you have any questions, concerns or require any further information please ask, our door is always open.
