Science

At St Jerome's, we believe that Science is a fascinating, engaging subject and we aim to ensure that pupils are equipped to understand both the uses and implications of Science, both today and in the future. We aim to provide our children with a strong knowledge-base and through our Science curriculum, develop curious children who like to ask questions and find out more. Our children are involved in a range of activities that are practical, relevant and interesting, in order to help their understanding of scientific concepts and processes. This includes asking questions, discussing, predicting and planning investigations as well as methods of recording, interpreting and evaluating findings.

The Science curriculum is carefully sequenced in such a way that skills and knowledge are taught in an order that reflects progression and challenge according to the Key Stages. Knowledge organisers are available for each unit of Science, with an emphasis on key learning and vocabulary for the unit of work.
