Physical Education

At St Jerome's, we recognise how Physical Education impacts on the health and well-being of all children. We aim to create an engaging, inspiring and varied PE curriculum, which has a positive influence on the attitude, concentration and academic achievemnent of all pupils. We want our children to develop a positive attitude towards exercise and physical activity whilst they are at school, which will then continue as part of their daily lives. We aim to establish a whole-school culture based around health, fitness and well-being, so that children and staff can understand and apply the long-term benefits gained from taking part in physical activity.

We intend to develop the knowledge and skills of all pupils and provide them with lots of opportunities to participate and enjoy a broad range of sports and physical activities. Children are also provided with the opportunity to participate in a range of competitive sports within the local area. These experiences enable the children to improve their tactical awareness, communicate and cooperate with others, as well as displaying sportsmanship.
