Summer Term

This half term in Reception we are going to be looking at lots of different traditional stories and characters. The children will be having a go at retelling stories, making story maps, designing their own characters and writing parts of a story together.

In phonics we will be practising reading longer words and all of our new sounds.

We will be carrying on with addition number sentences and then be starting to look at doing take away (subtraction) number sentences. The children will also start to explore 3D shapes in the environment and describing them.

As part of our growing topic the children will be planting their own pea seed, taking care of it and keeping a pea diary.

This half term we have our trip to Knowsley Safari Park and the children will be going to beach school.
