Western Approaches
Lesson: Topic
Class: Year 6 Year: 2016 - 2017
Yesterday, Class 6 took an early train to Liverpool to visit Western Approaches (the World War 2 Museum) in Liverpool.
The class spent the morning using all of their historical skills. They asked questions, made connections and used all of their observational skills to discover as much as possible about Western Approaches and The Battle of the Atlantic. It was a fascinating morning. We've got some budding Historians in our class!
After a picnic lunch at the Pier Head, we set off for the Pier Master's House at Albert Dock to discover how ordinary people lived during World War 2. We were able to find lots of similarities (as well as some major differences) in wartime living conditions.
Every member of our class was a wonderful ambassador for St Jerome's and received many compliments from members of the public about their good manners and behaviour. We were really proud of them!
