Welcome to Class Six!
Welcome to the wonderful world of Class Six! We hope you all had a lovely festive period with your family and enjoyed every second of your time together and the snow!
Our theme for this spring term is:
"Evolution and Inheritance: Have we always looked like this?"
In school we will be looking at a wonderful text called 'The Selfish Giant' by Oscar Wilde during our English sessions. We will be focusing on the Cardiovascular System as a part of our 'Animals including Humans' strand within our science lessons. In our history lessons, we will be looking at our own country and our land: investigationg 'What did King George VI mean when he said, ‘The history of York is the history of England’?'. This is a brilliant half term and will really allow your child to think and debate in many areas while asking thought provoking questions.
I am sure we will have an awesome term and always remember, if you have any questions or queries, our door is always open.
Many thanks for your support. Continue to stay safe and smile!
Our class webpage will be updated throughout the year to inform you of any important information and changes.
P.E. in Class Six will take place on a Wednesday and a Thursday. Please ensure your child comes to school wearing their P.E. kit. Your child can wear their school jumper or cardigan as well as a coat over the top of their P.E. kit. In cold weather please allow your child to wear tracksuit bottoms if needed. If your child suffers from veruccas please ensure they have pumps or it is covered up adequately if the P.E. session is indoors as trainers and socks will be taken off.
Homework in Class Six will take place throughout the week. Children are also expected to read and we suggest at least 10 minutes a day if at all possible.

We highly encourage all children to bring in a water bottle to school every day. Castlerigg cookies are available every Wednesday morning break time for 40 pence. Toast will also be sold on a Friday morning for 20 pence. If your child would like to purchase any of these items they should bring in the required money on each day and keep it safely in their tray.
We look forward to an amazing year in Class Six! If you have any questions, concerns or require any further information please ask, our door is always open.
