Welcome to Class Six!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Class Six! We hope you all had a lovely half term and you are excited to be back.

Our theme for this autumn term is:

"Conflict and Resolution: Is it ever right to fight?"

In school we will be looking at a wonderful text called 'Can we Save the Tiger?' during our English sessions. We will be focusing on the Classification of Living Things within our science lessons. In our geography lessons, we will unearth what a river is and everything it helps us to do. This is a brilliant half term and will really allow your child to think and debate in many areas.

Our class webpage will be updated throughout the year to inform you of any important information and changes.

P.E. in Class Six will take place on a Wednesday and a Friday. Please ensure your child comes to school wearing their P.E. kit. Your child can wear their school jumper or cardigan as well as a coat over the top of their P.E. kit. In cold weather please allow your child to wear tracksuit bottoms if needed. If your child suffers from veruccas please ensure they have pumps or it is covered up adequately if the P.E. session is indoors as trainers and socks will be taken off.

Homework in Class Six will take place throughout the week. Children are also expected to read and we suggest at least 10 minutes a day if at all possible.

We highly encourage all children to bring in a water bottle to school every day. Castlerigg cookies are available every Wednesday morning break time for 40 pence. Toast will also be sold on a Friday morning for 20 pence. If your child would like to purchase any of these items they should bring in the required money on each day and keep it safely in their tray.
