Our Catholic Life

Welcome to the "Catholic Life of our School" page.

Through this page, we aim to share with you and celebrate many of the elements that make our Catholic school so special. As a Catholic school, spiritual and religious education are central to the life of the school. Our Catholic faith influences all the work of the school as we strive to follow the Gospel values of love, justice and concern for others.

We are a welcoming and caring school family, providing opportunities for awe and wonder, and by being positive role-models, who live out the Gospel Values, treating each other with respect and fairness, willing to forgive and be forgiven, just as Jesus taught us.

The school also seeks to establish itself as an essential and integral part of the local community. It helps the children to explore the beliefs, values and way of life of the Catholic tradition and aims to deepen and enrich the pupils’ understanding and living of their faith.

On this tab, you will find information to help families, our Parish and our school work together in supporting the development of our children's faith and Religious Education.

Catholic Social Teaching

At the heart of everything we do in St Jerome's is Catholic Social Teaching. Catholic Social Teaching (CST) is rooted in Scripture, formed by the wisdom of Church leaders, and in
fluenced by grassroots movements. It is our moral compass, guiding us on how to live out our faith in the world. CST is a body of teaching rooted in the principles and values of the Catholic faith that provides a moral framework for students to engage with key social issues and the world around them. It aims to help students understand their roles and responsibilities in promoting justice, peace, and the dignity of all people, especially the poor and marginalised in society.
